If you're tired of all the "considerate" drivers that pass you by illegally getting on the right (by the way too long) Mountain House on-Ramp on 205 call the office of CHP and complain. Maybe if they hear more than one voice, they would assign a couple of officers to monitor it during the deadlock times.

What do you mean, can you be more descriptive of the problem?

When you are on 205 East passed the Mountain House overpass, a long on-ramp has been built. Its the place they have even put traffic lights to control the flow of vehicles on to 205. Anyway, many vehicles who are already on 205 use that on-ramp to pass others from the right to get ahead of traffic while others have to wait their turn.

A good case for metering lights. The metering lights realy do help with the merging traffic as they are timed to let cars go in intervals. They work well at Santa Rita Road in Pleasanton. Don't have a long line of traffic slowing traffic so they can get in. he long merging lane helps trucks to get up their speed so that they can merge easily into traffic.

Post edited by: tumbleweed, at: 2007/07/19 08:09

Exit lane surfing is a big problem not only on 205, but also on 580. It is hard to believe that people will do this to reduce their commute time by such a small amount of time.

I am anxiously waiting for the metering lights to be turned on through Livermore. It looks like most of the infrastructure is now in place.
