Paul is a pretty light-hearted guy and really not a jerk at all. Tracy Disposal Service (Delta) is in the phonebook, on the Internet or you can call the City of Tracy Department of Public works if you have a complaint or question.

The real answer is that they only have a driver on the truck and pick up the cans mechanically. The extra bags mean a full stop. But, you can call them and they will make an extra trip and do a pick up.

They are not jerks either.

FRANK

Thank you for the kind words.
By the way, I have my moments : )
I am starting to wonder if I should have not come up with a handle to hide behind : )
Good information and recommendation.

BC76

When I typed "Stupid Question" I was meaning I, ME, MYSELF was asking a Stupid Question. It was a self deprecating statement, but I can easily see how it could and was taken the wrong way. Please accept my apologies (despite my verbosity : )
Anyway, I was trying to communicate that instead of throwing out this question for anybody to conjecture upon, maybe it be better just to call the garbage company directly and get the answer. We had the same instance happen with the Bike Club email blast when a member quite innocently asked if the local bike shop had closed (as in outta business). I made the same recommendation to that person who oddly reacted similar as you did. I am left wondering if people just don't like being corrected. There is never any malice intended.

1) Give Paul a break, he is a cool guy 2) A forum is a rumor mill by definition, a place for truthyness. 3) I know from experience the best method is the stomping and stacking method 4) Make sure you are using the recycle bin to the fullest, lots of garbage is recyclable.

Post edited by: brian.barringer, at: 2007/05/15 20:09

ok...the way his "ummm, stupid question." sentence was written, it seemed like paul was being a jerk. i now know that paul did not intend to imply i had a stupid question. no hard feelings.

the purpose of my post was to vent out at having to walk barefoot on the street in my pajamas carrying gargabe bags. i watched the garbage man avoid the two bags that were in front of the can and act like nothing was there.

i also stated that i could very easily research the rules, however i am lazy. I figured this "what the heck" forum was more of an Andy Rooney "...why is it..." type of place; i was not actually planning to be proactive and find out for myself.

well, to answer your question, yes, i have thought about slipping on shoes before i go outside. in fact, many times i do wear shoes when i go outside. even more of a fact is that sometimes i make a conscious decicion to wear shoes, but sometimes forget to wear pj's. at 5am, i do not make the best choices.

our garbage men/women come very early in the morning, just as i am "getting ready for the day". i had to make a split-second decision or my window of opportunity would pass. until you have faced that kind of pressure, please hold your sarcastic comments.
