Garbage 1 Year, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
anyone know why my garbage man refuses to pick up the single garbage bag i placed directly in front of my garbage can? i get pissed off ever wednesday morning, but i figure i should give them the benefit of the doubt and actually see the rules regarding extra garbage. so mr. garbage man, what the heck?

They are super uber-picky. I was told that they won't take extra stuff that's not in the can. When in similar situations, I just flip the lid back, and pile the extra bags on top of the full can. It may be a ginormous garbage skyscraper, but hey- it's all in the can!

Ummmmmmm Stupid Question. Did you consider calling the garbage company and asking them as opposed to running the garbage rumor mill? I guess different trucks have different personnel. Our garbage pick up is very accommodating. I keep my cans very close to the street to remind me to put them out on the appropriate day. One time I was not home and the collectors went the extra mile (okay only 20 feet : ) to snag my tote. I have found working with Delta Disposal to be very easy. Good Luck

Here in Stockton we get several stickers a year, each labeled for garbage, recyclables, etc. It is required that extra bags have a sticker plainly visible so that the waste is classified correctly and so that one household doesn't exceed their quota. If you could just put your trash in bags on the street and lay them next to your paying neighbors garbage and get it picked up then there wouldn't be much sense in subscribing to pickup.
