I CAN NOT BELIEVE THE MESS!!! 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 2
This has got to top the heap! It is bad enough for the signs all over and a few carts but now the Tracy citizens have really turned their own city into looking like cr@p. You have got to be kidding me! You all know better then to put that out until the night before your scheduled garbage pick up date. You are the parasites of Tracy. This makes me ANGRY. Code Enforcement should fine all of you that they possibly can. Those of you that threw your cr@p to the curb are too lazy to go threw it and put it in the garbage. You are the lowest of the low. This also made the S.J. Herald for all to see. Just great. You bunch of low lifes. I'm sick of this happening every year. This is the worse. I want to slap you all.

I didn't find this in todays(wed,) Tracy Press but it was here.

SAN JOAQUIN HERALD:
Some too eager to clean up, Tracy says
Officials say unwanted items accumulating too early
By Mike Martinez, STAFF WRITER
Article Created: 04/09/2008 03:26:39 AM PDT

TRACY — The city's annual Spring Clean Up event is just around the corner, so many Tracy residents have already begun creating piles in front of their homes of items they want to discard.

Unfortunately, the eagerness could lead to some problems.

For example, it's a violation of city codes to leave items on the curb so far ahead of a clean-up event, city officials said.

"You can't leave stuff on the sidewalk because you're creating a hazard for pedestrians and cars," said Matt Robinson, a city spokesman. "People are coming around and foraging through to find what they can salvage."

Scavengers often make a mess, and abandoned items often wind up strewn across streets, yards and sidewalks, Robinson said.

Code enforcement officials are working with residents to move the piles until the night before the Spring Clean Up occurs in their neighborhood, he said.

"People are expecting this to happen soon. They're just jumping the gun," Robinson said. "We're asking them to pull their stuff back and put it out before their right day."

Also, as part of the city's "Earth Day ... Every Day" campaign, the semi-annual citywide garage sale is scheduled for April 19 beginning at 8 a.m.

Residents are encouraged to buy used furniture, appliances, electronics and other household items in an effort to keep them out of the landfill.

A map of participating homes is available on the city's Web site (www.ci.tracy.ca.us), at city buildings, the Tracy Library from the Tracy Chamber of Commerce.
