Brad -
I've been a resident of Glenbriar for 5 years now, and speaking from my opinion ONLY, you have no worries. The areas around where you speak of are; Glenbriar, Shae, Edgewood and the Junction. Hidden Lake is north of Valpico. All of these areas are very nice. Lots of police, fireman, doctors, stay at home mothers and retiree's living in the area.
Crime stats in these areas are fairly low compaired to other areas in town. In the last few months, police reports from these areas have mainly been kids vandalizing the not yet done "freedom park," in the Glenbriar area.
I hope this helps.
Good luck in your endeavors and hopefully, let me welcome you to Tracy.

Post edited by: T515050, at: 2008/03/08 13:58

brad,
My family and I have lived in the Edgewood Neighborhood (south of Wm. Adams Park) since July 2006. We researched the crime statistics and checked Megan's List, before making a decision. We found that the neighborhood is quiet and everyone we've met so far is very friendly.
We have a neighborhood school (Anthony Traina) that offers Kindergarten throug 8th grade, and is within walking distance of every home in the neighborhood. Edgewood has very little (if any) crime and traffic in the area is predominantly caused by residents who venture out to shop and/or commute to and from work.
I hope this helps.

Thank you everybody for your opinions. I like very much the online community already and if you live in those areas this is already a good sign. I will go check right now the MeganLaw for that address.
Thx once again!

I searched on MegansLaw and there is just one guy in those 2 squares. This town looks too good. It is almost unbelievable since Stockton is so bad and so close to it.
Thank you!

Hi! Our family has an accepted offer in for a home in Edgewood. We're very hopeful that the bank comes thru for us... either we'll have the keys next week or not. One thing that is making me crazy though is that since our offer was accepted, many more homes have come on the market. Less for more sqfootage, bigger lot... that kind of thing. So from me to you, don't keep looking online! Find what you love and go for it!

....having a home at edgewood is a nice place to live at, there is the edgewood corporate center that's around the corner (no need to drive to town) - that has a dental, and medical clinic for my kids and the family; also a spa clinic, easy access to ACE train station, insurance co. and other offices.....try checking it out - just walk around and you'll see the different offices in that center....very convenient.....
