Hmm, lemme guess. Most days, your wardrobe selection includes one of the following:

baggy jeans which ride low enough to expose your underwear
A ball cap worn with the brim to the side
A tshirt with a trendy logo, or tupac, che, etc
hitop sneakers that cost over $100 for the pair

gotta bring che into this ... by the way, i think last week was the anniversary of his death?

it seems silly that people would wear che's face while arbitrarily vandalizing. clearly cool things get ruined with the generations ...

Honestly.... I'd MUCH rather these reports be taken over the phone and leave the beat cops free to rounding up a few more crackheads. In case you hadn't noticed, this town is riddled with them.

Lynn63. You obviously have a computer and that's good because you can file police reports for such things online.

Go to the city web page and look for it under the police department. There you can submit your report, print it out and give the information to your insurance company without having to tie up an officer to make the report.

The more of these reports that come in the more information it gives to the police. Eventually, with enough information, they can track down the people causing the problems take them off the streets.

It takes time and in our "fast food" "got to have it now" society we often get frustrated when things don't occur as quickly as we might like.

But if you don't participate with the tools at your disposal it takes them even longer to gather the information necessary for them to take appropriate action. We should at the very least meet them half way and end the nonsence statement, "That's what I pay my taxes for."

The answer to that is,"OK, then lets increase the taxes so we can affort to put more officers on the street and have Tracy start looking like a police state under seige.

I honestly believe we don't want something like that to happen so perhaps a better method is to help them with the tools we already have at our disposal.

Dave,

We just had 12 cop cars show up for a knife report. I think it's fairly obvious there is more than enough cops in this town. The problem we face is not quantity but quality...

There are not 12 cops on patrol at one time except during the over lap and shift change from swings to graves. It is like that for CHP, sheriffs depts, and city police all over. They are understaffed, over worked and under appreciated! Since you don't understand, don't criticize!!!
Tracy is way too small a city to have 12 cops on patrol on 1 shift. My uncle works for a city police dept bigger than Tracy and they don't have 12 either. That is the standard.

Missy,

I more than understand. Have you paid attention to the cops in Tracy? They are hardly noteworthy. Don't act like the rest of us are blind simply because your uncle is a cop and you are bias. Anyone without a criminal record can become a cop, the requirements are not that difficult...
