Illegal Immigration & U.S. Employers 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 1
U.S. District Court Maxine Chesney, in California, last week issued a temporary restraining order blocking the Department of Homeland Security’s plan, to send out notices to employers from the Social Security Administration informing them of non-matching records between an employee's name and Social Security number. These employers would then have to resolve the discrepancy within 90 days or be required to dismiss the employee, or face up to $10,000 in fines for knowingly hiring illegal immigrants.
Her ruling blocks the Department of Homeland Security from simply enforcing existing immigration laws. Laws she took an oath to uphold. If we cannot trust the judges in this country to uphold our laws then we do not need those individuals on the bench.
I have seen the effect of what the Department of Homeland Security enforcing these laws has done where I am currently living and what it has done is seen to it that American citizens have jobs because those who were illegally employed had to be replaced with people who had a legal right to work here. Already though there are rumors that some of these employers are trying to hire more illegals to come in and work for them because, unlike American citizens who will stand up for their rights, they can get away with working the illegals like slaves because the employers know they will not complain.
Rulings like the one last week by liberal judges such as Maxine Chesney do nothing to help U.S. citizens. They encourage employers to violate immigration and labor laws designed to protect employees from abusive and dangerous working conditions. They also encourage rhetoric such as last Sunday’s demand from Mexican President Felipe Calderon that the United States surrender its sovereignty, abandon the rule of law and accede to Mexico's inherent supremacy. My only response to that idiot that I am willing to put in print is, "When hell freezes over!" Folks if we don’t start insisting our nation’s existing immigration laws be enforced and it’s sovereignty respected by every nation then we soon will not have a nation of our own. I have no intention of ever being a citizen of Mexico.

How can you ignore the real cost of illegal immigrants? How anyone could justify blocking the US Government from doing SOMETHING to stop employers from hiring them is beyond me. I pay to support the welfare system of this country (burdened by millions of ILLEGAL immigrants) and I'm angered by liberal judges who think that a criminal has rights, as do the employers who hire them. Send out the letters and enforce the intent. Illegal immigrants have no rights. If they want to be here so bad, let them do it legally.

Hank I think you misunderstood my post. I was trying to let people know what this liberal judge has done, blocked enforcement of our country's laws, something our judges are not supposed to be doing. I am with you 100%. I am sick of people from ANY country comming here illegally and getting away with it. They are either a burden on our society or cause someone else to be by taking jobs away from American citizens. My son only has the job he has because the company he works for was recently forced to fire hundreds of illegals they had on their payroll just in this one local plant (there were as many more at their other plants), and hire people who had a legal right to work in this country. Already the rumors are flying that they are planning on hiring more illegals because they can work them like slaves and the illegals will do so without complaint. My son has not had a day off in two weeks. And they are talking about having them work 12 hour shifts now too. The company is trying to make the conditions so difficult the legal Americans will give up and quit. The owner of the company, a major central U.S. Chicken processor, is a huge supporter of the liberal Democrats, like Clinton, who appointed Judge Maxine Chesney.

Post edited by: Kathy, at: 2007/09/08 03:02

I probably should submit a letter on this, but our representatives in congress have no intentions of securing the borders.

There are two tangible demonstrations of this in the two recent senate bills on so-called "immigration reform."

In the original, submitted by Sen. Heid (NV), there were a few days of debate. Senator Kennedy submitted a substitute amendment, which means everything that was debated in Heid's bill is wiped out, and there is a new bill.

Immediately, there was a motion for cloture, meaning the debate is ended, now we are ready to vote. Wait a minute! Not a single word of the new bill was debated on the senate bill, and they are trying to call it to vote.

Senator Kennedy's substitute amendment contained in Section 413, a congressional resolution to embrace the Security and Prosperity Partnership, which is a plan to liquidate America's borders, and send support down to Mexico.

When cloture failed, Reid immediately retracted the bill. He didn't want it discussed.

A few weeks later, Kennedy submitted the very same substitute amendment, this time in the form of a bill, with a new number. Section 413 was still present, with the same paragraph number.

Ditto motion for cloture without any public debate.

Ditto when cloture failed, bill is retracted from the house floor, lest Section 413 would be exposed to the public.

I have met Congressman McNerney in his public appearances, 4 times. Most recently, I witnessed a room full of people interrogating him on border security, and he made no mention of Senator Kennedy's plan to liquidate the border. Instead, he acted totally dumb and hopeless, as if he were powerless, as if the task of securing the border is outside of congressional ability.

Post edited by: daniel, at: 2007/10/14 01:17
