Firefox (Mac and PC) seems to not be liking the CSS on most of the site (all of it except this posting page, thus far). Here's a screenshot for your reference.

the main date was probably too big - pushed everything around

Yep, exactly what happened. And it shouldn't be a problem anymore either. If it does happen again measures have been put in place to make it easily fixed as well.

By the way, cosmic, thank you for your screenshot! Your post is by far the best I've seen to identify a problem on the site. Normally we're given just a 'oh noes! it doesn't work!' and nothing else. So kudos to you.

Being stuck on the Support Team for a rather popular piece of forum software has led me to learn how to file good bug reports

rofl look at the site now....Joomla was a very bad choice
