Parking in Residential 1 Year, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
I live in down town Tracy - the house I live in does not have a driveway. However, my neighbors (that have a driveway) have several cars that come and go. They insist on parking in front of my house. This means I have to park down the street and carry my bags down the street. Ive asked them nicely to please park in front of their own house, but they refuse. They told me to contact the city and get a parking permit and laughed. Does anybody have any suggestions? I dont want a war with my neighbors, but I feel like Ive been backed into a corner.

All you can hope for, legally, is nice neighbors. There is no law stating that any on-street space is yours, at least not in Tracy.
Sounds like they are not nice, so I would put nails under the tires when they park there. KIDDING, just kidding.

You can view the Tracy municipal codes here. http://ordlink.com/codes/tracy/index.htm
Click on "search" in the side bar on the left to search for the subject you are looking for. I hope you can find something helpful. Bad neighbors are a real pain and you should be able to park in front of your own home.
Maybe this is something the city council could work on to make life more pleasant in those older neighborhoods with no off street parking. Hint Hint

Post edited by: Kathy, at: 2007/06/05 01:44
