I, like most others in our neighborhood, walk my dog responsibly by picking up her droppings with a plastic bag. But today I was faced with a minor dilemma and I wondered how others might have handled it. My dog chose to do her duty next to a humongous, abandoned pile of dogpoop left by another dogowner. I picked up mine, but I couldn't bring myself to picking up the other. I was annoyed at the other person, but also annoyed at myself for not doing the right thing.

It's not that I'm too proud to pick up after others. During my walks, I've cleaned up beer bottles and cigarette boxes left behind by strangers on the streets in our neighborhood, but I draw the line in picking up after other people's dogs.

SO PLEASE! pick up after the dog you're walking. (Then I won't be faced with this stupid dilemma.)

Maybe you could have done a random act of kindness even though you did not like picking up somebody else poop. Our dogs do not poop during our walks so I guess I am happy not to be adding to your dilemma.

Talk about yuck factor...
I'm all for random acts of kindness but I'm with TMV people should pick up after their own dogs.

I totally agree. I cannot stand when people cannot pickup after their dogs. I carry some plastic bags on my dogs leash at all times. In addition to being unsanitary I get worried sometimes because I wonder if the dog who did that has been fully vaccinated? It's not that hard to do even if someone doesn't want to spend money on doggie duty bags any old plastic bags from some shopping will do.
