There was a column in "Our Town" about coffee houses. It would be interesting to me to find out which one you like best and why. Do you go for coffee or for social reasons? Thanks for your replies.

Java Makers. I love their strawberry-banana smoothies. Their smoothies are very refreshing on a hot day and can really stave off those hunger pangs if one has missed a meal. They are the best ever bar none. Not living in Tracy anymore I really miss those smoothies. I have not had their coffee so I cannot speak for Java Makers coffee.
I have had Starbucks coffee. Once. It tasted so horrible I poured down their own sink in front of them after just a couple of sips. How anyone drinks the swill that they call coffee is beyond me. I wish they didn't have Starbuck in Barnes and Noble because I hate the way it makes Barnes and Noble smell sometimes, especially when they are brewing a lot of very strong coffee.
There was a little place down on Central Avenue, near the old fire station, awhile back that has been closed for over a year now. They made a good cup of coffee. I was sorry to hear they closed. I think they were just in a bad location.
I guess I am different from most coffee drinkers. I don't drink coffee for a jolt, I drink it to savor the flavor.

I wonder whatever happened to Zizzo's on 10th St? Years ago, when making the daily deposit to B of A across the street, I'd stop in for a coffee and the occasional panini sandwich before going back to the office. When I changed jobs, I took a job in another city, and stopped going to Zizzo's. I miss that place. It's still a coffee shop, just a different name now.

I am partial to At the Oasis. An extra large, black coffee from Sam and his team, is all I need to start my day off! You can't buy they kind of personal, friendly attention you get there, either!

I was just in there on Saturday, I think it's called Baristas and it's pretty good, but I must agree, Java Makers is the best. Not the ones on Grantline or 11th as they changed owners, but the one on South Tracy Blvd. I just call, tell them my name, and voila, coffee is ready!
