Why is it that there are no sidewalks along MacArthur? Has anyone ever noticed how close cars get to kids walking along MacArthur before and after school? Does anyone know if the city has plans to build sidewalks along that stretch of roadway so that kids can walk safely to and from school? I am primarily concerned about the area next to the cemetary.

Wouldn't this question be better suited for someone who works for the city? Like Public Works or the Traffic Department?

I agree, BUT the person seemingly wants an answer to the question and from reading the responses or input made on this forum, they are not going to get an accurate answer.

I mean really, if Bob Blinker responded the reason there was no sidewalk was developers along with Mayor Ives and Councilperson Tolbert were all in a overt conspiracy and spent the money earmarked for the sidewalks on something useless, like some park that is bound to blow up and kill thousands of kids and garamendi is the best thing for tracy government.

It's because that part of Tracy was County for a long time and as certain areas have come into the City with housing subdivisions. The developers of those subdivisions are only required by state law to improve (put in sidewalks, street lights, etc.) where they are contiguous with the City street. So you have gaps between those subdivisions and county properties and you also have what's called leapfrog development.
