i hope you're right.
as silly as it sounds an organized neighborhood watch program might help. these guys aren't too bright and from what i've seen reported they target the same areas
and most likely use the same vehicles. this probably started off as some kids that were being stupid and sparked several copycats so now this is the new cool thing to do. (i speculate on this and i really hope i'm wrong)
try going to a cuty council meeting and get organized. find people who may be able to pull shifts and get everyone in your community involved. this is a big issue that affects alot of people so i'm sure everyone wants to catch these guys.
another possibility is someone at a window repair company has got to be raking in the dough from all of these incidents... something to look into.

You also have to factor in that vandalism is a difficult crime to fight, which is why it's so prevalent everywhere. With auto burglaries, you can remove items from your vehicle that are in plain view and are attractive to thieves. You keep your vehicle locked and hopefully nothing will happen (keep your fingers crossed).

With vandalism, such as the BB gun variety, I would suggest that if you have a garage, park your vehicle in there. Otherwise there really isn't much that the police can do, and they're stretched too far thin to sit around and wait for something to happen.

I know it sounds like an excuse, but we also have to be realistic.

As frustrating as it is, windows are the least of my concern. I know full well that the chances of the police finding the culprits is nil. Could you find them yourself without witnesses? Neither can the police. Now, I'm no fan of the Tracy Police Dept or their sometimes questionable behavior BUT when it comes to shot out windows.... yeah, I expect to file a report to satisfy the insurance company and never hear anything more about it from the police dept.

Honestly.... I'd MUCH rather these reports be taken over the phone and leave the beat cops free to rounding up a few more crackheads. In case you hadn't noticed, this town is riddled with them.

tracy cops dont go for big trouble. the go for the little tiny trouble. my friend is getting putted over for loud music and some guy is getting a beat down for his mp3 across the street on the train tracks. wheres the justice? NONE. also whats up with all these stereotyping when some kid that has a big long tee(shirt) minding his walk home and when some group of kids come in and give him a beat down for his things. and what did the "adult" do? she gets in the car and leave the helpless kid? WHAT THE HECK RIGHT?! OH YEAH. also a group of cops just parked aross the street and when i roll by i get call in for thinging i am a vandal?! but doesnt realize theres someone getting another BEAT DOWN across the street in the alley under a light?! i told the cop but he goes "you have the right to quiet" or some bull. and the other cop goes shut up. abused?! YEA. stereotyping?! YES. most tracy cops cant be trusted. in my point of view.

DO WHAT? Your rant or whatever you would like to call it made absolutely no sense whatsoever. You start off talking about someones music, then you go to someone with a long tshirt getting beat down and then the adult leaves...WHAT ADULT????
