A woman reported at 12:33 p.m. Tuesday that two guys about 18 walked out of a home on the 1800 block of Isabel Virginia Drive, but neither of them live there.
She was outside when she saw them walk out, but when they saw her, they went back inside, she told police, and a small gray SUV in the area might have been tied to them.
She didn’t see them take off, though, and when police checked it out, an officer said the home had been burglarized. They guys broke in through a sliding glass door in the back of the home, police said.
A small safe was inside the home, and among things stolen were $200 in $2 bills, Social Security cards, passports, birth certificates, antique jade jewelry, and a Dell laptop computer.

Who am I to judge? I am a law-abiding citizen of Tracy who wishes for our children to not be killed by drunken savages. That is who I am.
I am not judging your friend on whether or not he's going to Heaven (since that seems to be where most people's "judging" topics here lead). I am judging him as a neighbor, and as the police records state, he is a terrible and dangerous neighbor and a threat to our well being and our lives. Wait until someone you love is tragically killed by a drunken repeat offender and then we'll see how judgemental you are. I am not alone in hoping that these animals are stopped BEFORE they kill someone.
And yes, my hands are very clean. Since you're defending this Jerod charater, one can only assume you're young and naive. Maybe there is time left for you to smarten up and "clean" your own hands. Choose your friends wisely, because if you shake hands with the devil, you'll get burned.
You act as though this was a one-time mistake on Jerod's part. No, this is just the first time he was arrested for this particular crime. He is known by many to constantly drive drunk, and this is definitely not his first brush with the law. How many times will he do this before he stops?
Sure, he needs help, but not the kind you offer. You can't constantly hold his hand and tell him it's not his fault and that everyone just hates him because they don't understand him. It's actually because we have witnessed the evils that this man does that we praise his arrest and are thankful justice may actually be served.
If you want anybody to take you seriously, please don't come on here and defend this monster. By doing so, you're just as much of a joke as he is.
Thank you for praying for me, but please remember to also pray for all the past, present and future victims of your friend Jerod. There are many, with many yet to come.
God Bless, and please smarten up.
Yes, he needs help... but so do all of you.
I'll pray for you.
Ha! Nobody understands you, retard!
Apparently, what "truechristian2010" took from the bible is: "He that is stoned among you, let him sin."
Go back to hitting the bottle, but call Jarod Odell Johnson a cab this time. Retards.
Whatever search site you used to look me up robbed you of your money. I have lived on Carlton Way for about 20 years, and Kathy has lived here even longer than I have. Kathy's real first name is Katherine, so you may try her that way. For better results, walk up and down Carlton and knock on the doors and ask for Deb. It's a short street and everyone knows me. If you get to my house, I'll welcome you in for coffee or tea and we can discuss whatever topics you'd like. If you don't get my house on the first try, either keep going or ask one of my friendly neighbors to point my house out for you. I can't personally speak for Kathy, but everyone knows that I welcome all into my home for a friendly chat. A stranger is simply a friend I have not met yet.
As far as your friend is concerned, yes, I did try to greet them once they moved in. Even though I knew they were home on several occassions because I saw them pull into their driveway and go inside, they did not ever answer the door. I tried days, evenings and weekends. They refused to be socialable and acted as though they were hiding out from the neighborhood. We'd sure hear them coming and going, and we'd get the nasty looks from them (especially from "her"), so we all eventually stopped knocking on their door to introduce ourselves. We tried; they avoided.
If you look hard enough through your Bible (or Internet site, whichever is the case for you), you can find a verse that you can use to justify almost any point of view. I have seen people quote the Bible to justify murder and dealing drugs, and if you take it literally, it would work. Too many "true Christians" are using the Bible to make their argument for them because they know that no decent person will try to refute the Bible. What they should be instead using is common sense, and your friend certainly did not use common sense that night or many other nights, and you seem to be ignoring it yourself when attempting to defend him. I'm sure you think he's a really nice guy, but Hitler had friends too, and I'm sure they could all use the Bible to defend Hitler from those who say that what he did was wrong.
I cannot say for sure that God will let me into Heaven. That is up to Him to decide, just as if he lets your friend Jerod into Heaven, that will be at His discretion only. You are right; I cannot judge Jerod as a friend or family member, so I cannot say how he performs as such. I can, however, say that I know him as a neighbor, and as such I am obligated for the sake of my community to judge him as such. Without degrading his status as your friend or family member, I can honestly say that he is a bad and dangerous neighbor. We all said this shortly after he moved in, and his recent arrest just puts down on paper what we have all been saying for the past several months. In some other town, he may fit right in, but in a town like Tracy, or on Carlton Way specifically, he is not welcome. He will eventually kill someone here if he is not asked to leave.
I am not a psychic, so please tell me how I absolutely knew that he would be arrested for drunk driving. It's called common sense. He drives drunk all the time. Common sense tells you that it was bound to happen. If that is what you'd like to call Karma, then fine. Karma made him get arrested. Personally, I am a Christian and not a Buddhist, so I don't believe in Karma. I won't judge you on your religion, even if you pretend to be a Christian. To each his own, I say.
And the reason this police blotter is getting so much attention is because there are actually people on here defending the criminal when he is known by many to be a lunatic. If your friends would stop defending him, we wouldn't have to continue to defend the sane and reasonable side.
But, I guess this was a waste of time because you said that you had better things to do with your time. Since it's Saturday night, I believe you. Go have fun, but please take Jerod's keys away this time so he doesn't actually kill someone tonight. I'll be doing my evening walk around the neighborhood (maybe with Kathy) and I'd hate for your friend Jerod to run us over like he almost did to that poor little girl on the bicycle.
I'm only posting again to make it clear what I thought was obvious in my last posting. When I said to ask what would jesus do, I was refering to John 8:7 in the bible- "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone." Jesus did not condemn the adultress but forgave her and cleansed her. As far as saying that these people are under the guidance of satan, how would you know that? Have you ever went over to try to get to know them? I believe it would be hard for you to do since I did a reverse address look up, which any member of the public can do, and couldn't find you or a Kathy on the street. So you obviously don't exist or at least don't live on the street and whoever you are, you don't even know them. Will you be able to stand at the gates of heaven and be able to say that you have always been a true christian and have left the judgement of others up to god? I don't understand how people that don't even know this man can judge him instead of leaving God to judge him. As it is also obvious he will have further punishment by the law as well. What this man did was very wrong but why does it need to be discussed so relentlessly on here. I have never seen any other police blotter item get so much attention. Let's just hope that you never have a family member or friend make a wrong judgement call because Karma will make sure that they get the same treatment. This will be my last posting since I have better things to do with my time. Hopefully you understood me better this time.
I really hope you aren't as anti-Semitic as your comment would suggest. Since you're obviously smart enough to copy and paste Bible quotes, one would think you'd be smart enough to already know that Jesus was a Jew and that Christianity was built upon the teachings of this Jew.
By the way, if you're so intent on relying only on Bible quotes for guidance, please tell me where it says that purposely disgusting an entire neighborhood should be repeatedly forgiven by those who really just want a quiet life without having some heathens try their hardest to turn it into a slum.
I'm not a perfect Christian, but I have heard of the water-into-wine story. Please enlighten me and give me the references for where the Bible talked about how cool it is to drink as mush of said wine as possible, then climb behind the wheel and try to plow down little children. I must've missed that part.
This man and his sick little family do not belong living on a street with decent people. If you knew this man, you would know what I am talking about. Turning the other cheek only goes so far. This man was a menace long before he was arrested for drunk driving. This is just the first time the law is holing him accountable.
(Luke 6:27-37)
27 “But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.
29 To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer also the other; and from him who takes away your cloak, don’t withhold your coat also.
30 Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again.
31 “As you would like people to do to you, do exactly so to them.
32 If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
33 If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
34 If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive back as much.
35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
36 Therefore be merciful, even as your Father is also merciful.
37 Don’t judge, and you won’t be judged. Don’t condemn, and you won’t be condemned. Set free, and you will be set free.
I have to correct you because there was indeed a child on the street when this drunk driver sped through. In fact, it was a little girl on a bicycle, and this man almost ran her over. If he had been successful, she would have surely been killed. It is not something I wish to think about, but it is a reality that drunk drivers kill people every day. Maybe next time, he will succeed in the killing. I pray to God it doesn't happen.
As far as what Jesus would do, I do not know what you are referring to. I know for a fact that Jesus would not allow himself to get intoxicated, and He sure as heck would not drive a motor vehicle afterward when He knows that it could kill someone. Is that what you meant? As far as comments go, I do believe Jesus would call for the strictest punishment possible for this drunk driver. If you really are a true Christian, you would be familiar with the following:
"When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers." -Proverbs 21:15
He's your friend, and I understand you standing up for him, but the people on this street (I don't know any of them) and in this community should not have to live in fear for their or a family members life and safety. I know very well the destruction of the addiction of alcoholism. My friend who drank himself to death last year got his first DUI ten days before he died, which is amazing considering he's been battling alcoholism since we were in high school. He was accepted into the Los Angeles Police Academy in 1980, but quit after two weeks because he couldn't commit himself to the rigors because he couldn't stop drinking. Every day for the rest of his life it haunted him, and he felt like a failure because of it. When he died he was living in Fallon, Nevada so I was unable to get to him to help him as I did many times in the past. After I called him several times, and e-mailed him asking him if he was okay I didn't get a response. I finally called the Fallon Police to check on him, and they estimated he was dead for 11 days, by finding store recites from a liquid store, and by his phone records. It wasn't a pretty site, because it was over 100 degrees each of those days in late July. I hope you and your friend don't have the same sad ending and starting today can overcome his disease.
I am not saying that he is a rude and terrible man. He is probably a really nice man. His actions tell me the opposite. That is his fault and he needs to straighten up.
Your comment: "And so he drives drunk. So what!" You REALLY do not understand the importance of preventing people from driving drunk.
People are making comments on here that dont know him. I have known him for like 20 years. I havent talked to him in a while because we do different things now but I still know the kind of person he is and he is not the monster people here say he is.
Everyone makes mistakes and you shouldnt judge a man on his mastakes. Sure this wasnt his first mistake and it wont be his last but drinking is a disease. So him drinking and driving is a disease. If he drinks and drives its not his fault because he is sick with the disease. He doesnt know any better. Hes a good man but I never said he was smart. He isnt smart. I will admit that hes definitely not smart. But he is not a monster. He drinks. So what! And so he drives drunk. So what! He didnt kill anybody! Until he actually kills somebody, you all need to shut up and leave him alone! For reals!
Plus its not his fault because he comes from a bad home family. Most of his family doesnt even talk to him anymore because of his mistakes that he made that werent his fault also. And people fall in love with the wrong person all the time. It happens. What can he do now? Yeah shes nasty and horrible but you cant help who you love. Look at him. Who else would touch him? But hes nice and good no matter how he looks on the outside. They call him Rocky Dennis because of the way he looks but even the real Rocky Dennis was a good man with a big heart! He lost many friends and family because of his decisions but thats his life to live not yours! At least you have a family still but he doesnt. Thats enough to make anybody drink and drive. All he has left is his dad but his father is mentally sick and Jerod has to take care of him because he cant afford to put him in a special home. Maybe Jerod inherited his dads crazy brain? Who knows? Its all genetics. Thats also a disease that you cant control.
Leave Jerod alone!
I was away at a business meeting in SoCal for the past four days and I returned last night to find a note taped to my door from my neighbor Kathy who lives just down the street from me on Carlton. The note said to check the police blotter on the Tracy Press website and that it would brighten my day. And she was right!
I am so glad the police finally caught this terrible person driving drunk and I hope they have the good sense to throw the book at him, so to speak. Only God can judge a person, but I know that we are all His children and we should protect one another. Taking this known criminal and locking him up will save a life for sure.
On Carlton Way, and on the near-by streets, we have all been praying for this man. We all know he is troubled. His elderly grandfather who lives with him is also very very troubled. They need Jesus, but instead live under the guidance of Satan.
The community is much safer with this person behind bars. He and his family have been a dark cloud for so long, but now the sun is shining once again on Carlton Way.
Please pray for this young man. It is not his fault he is so messed up in his head. He needs God in his life to help him be a normal person.
Thank you,
Deb
I fully agree with doors17. I just don't want to see any more possible names added to the list. Get what I mean?
doors17 is correct.
Many of OUR city streets are named after OUR own true HEROES.
When a new housing tract goes up the city has the names in a hat from all those who were KIA, and whoever name gets pulled out is who the street is named after.
Despite everything we can say what is wrong with our city government, this is a idea I hope most of us can agree upon to honor the memory of these heroes. I don't know if they do, but I would like to see it include police and fire who lost their life in the line of duty.
